Manufacturing Future Success

WPM Flare Stack Temperature MonitoringIn an effort to be closer and more responsive to our customers in the Western Region, reduce delivery times and decrease the need for maintaining large inventories in the area, a new Ferguson Beauregard manufacturing cell began operating in the Grand Junction, CO region in early 2009. This new manufacturing cell focuses on the rapid delivery of plungers to Ferguson Beauregard customers in the Western Region.

At the heart of this new manufacturing cell is a LU300-M four-axis lathe from Okuma American Corp. The design of this lathe allows both upper and lower turrets to move the full length of the spindle, increasing the service area of each turret and allowing for dual cuts in a single pass. This allows the lathe to hold very tight tolerances while also providing high production rates.

This manufacturing cell joins two others that are currently in operation at Grand Junction. The other cells assemble electronic products with a focus on electronic flow meters and wireless radio I/O devices.
Overseeing the introduction of the new cell was Conrad Loyd, who has relocated to Grand Junction from Ferguson Beauregard's Tyler, TX, headquarters. In Tyler, Loyd was a night-shift supervisor and R&D machinist. His experience and expertise with Ferguson Beauregard products ensures the manufacture of high-quality plunger-lift products from this cell.
